The Wimberley Valley Visitor Center has been closed since Friday, March 13, 2020. We so miss our volunteers, people visiting our community, member ribbon cuttings on the front porch, Mixers, Luncheons, Chamber events and the list goes on!!
During this COVID-19 pandemic there have been event cancellations throughout the Wimberley Valley, which we all know has affected the financial situation for many businesses, non-profits, and individuals.
Today the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Director’s met to discuss among many things the 2020 Independence Parade that was schedule for Friday, July 3rd. As you all may have heard the Rodeo has been cancelled, Market Days for July will probably be cancelled, and the Chamber Board voted to cancel the Parade. This decision was not made lightly, as we know how many people in our community and from around our great state look forward to our Parade.
The revenue from the Parade provides a large percentage of the operating budget for the Wimberley Visitor Center, and the Center will certainly feel the financial effects the cancellation will have on the budget.
We would like to ask those who have the resources, large or small, to please donate to the Wimberley Valley Visitor Center. These funds will allow us to continue to provide vital and important services to our community.
We understand these are very difficult times and some may not have the resources to donate and we, of course, completely understand.
The Wimberley Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit 501c3, all donations are 100% deductible to the full extent of the tax code.
