Blue Hole Nature Camps-Week 5

Blue Hole Nature Camps 2018 are held Mon-Fri from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm:

-          Week 2 (June 18 - 22)

  • Wild for Wildlife
  • Are you wild for wildlife? Then this camp is for you! Come explore native Texas wildlife such as bats, birds, and snakes! Enjoy scat & track hikes, habitat hunts, animal face-painting, creative art projects, and traditional camp games and skits. You’re sure to have a WILD time!

-          Week 3 (June 25 - 29)

  • Camping Kids
  • This week is all about camping skills! You’ll enjoy setting up tents, cooking in the Dutch-ovens, making S’mores, fire building 101, finding geocaches, knot-tying, reading maps, hiking and more! Camp games, crafts, and skits included!

-          Week 4 (July 9 - 13)

  • Nature Creations
  • Let your imagination run wild in nature! Create and write in a nature journal, enjoy storytelling, do creative art projects, build forts, paint your park, and observe our natural environment around us! This week will be a lot of hands-on projects all built to explore your imagination in its natural state. Camp games, skits, and more!

-          Week 5 (July 16 - 20)

  • Plants & Pollinators
  • Plants really are pretty cool, and so are the pollinators that help them survive! You’ll learn all about our native plants, trees, and wildflowers and how wildlife and humans depend on them! Enjoy cool experiments showcasing plant adaptations and what pollinators exist in the hill country (like birds, bats, butterflies, and bees, oh my). Then, kick back with your friends with camp games and skits.  

-          Week 6 (July 23 - 27)

  • Every Drop Counts - Water Week
  • Learn all about the water cycle, the region’s aquifers, and the importance of water conservation! Enjoy edible aquifer activities, creek dip-netting and exploration, fun art projects like making your own mini rain barrel, hiking, and traditional camp games and skits
