The Science Mill Reopens Today!
June 23 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
What’s new and different
We’re all about innovation and adaptation, and when our doors closed in March, we began to envision a Science Mill experience that maintains our “minds-on” focus on fun and exploration while safeguarding the health of our guests, staff and community. Our plans carefully follow the latest Phase 3 state guidelines and CDC recommendations for public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic; you can find more details on our FAQ page.
We are now open 6 days a week, with two entry times most days:
Tues-Sat, 10-1pm & 2-5pm and Sun, 12-4pm. We’re spacing out visits so everyone can freely explore while keeping a safe distance. Between the two sessions, we’ll do a deep cleaning and reset of the entire museum.
New exhibits + hands-free and outdoor activities Visitors have more to explore and more space for social distancing. We’ve expanded our outdoor Science & Art Park with new experiences, including the Labyrinth, Butterfly Garden, Giant Bubbles Station and Scavenger Hunt. All our hands-on science activities now come equipped with disposable gloves. If you prefer a touch-free visit, we have over two dozen minds-on exhibits to enjoy.
Same friendly faces, now with masks You’ll see all Science Mill staff wearing masks and gloves. While inside the museum, all guests ages 5 and up will need masks as well.
Hand sanitizer stations throughout the museum and updated bathrooms with touch-free towel and soap dispensers.
We’ve amped up our cleaning procedures, with staff on hand in every space to continuously disinfect exhibits, tools, handles and other surfaces after use.
New online ticketing system for a “contactless” entry.
Two entrances now available to support social distancing and keep any time in line as short as possible.
