The Wimberley Valley Big Band consists of 22 talented musicians from the Wimberley area who donate their talents and time to bring great music to the inhabitants of the Wimberley Valley. The Band delights audiences and dancers by playing well-known tunes by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, and Quincy Jones, just to name a few. Most of our events are free to the public and usually occur on Sunday afternoons from 3-5 pm at the Wimberley Community Center. For those whose feet will not keep still, a dance floor is set up as well as plenty of seats for just listening.
Formerly known as the Hill Country Jazz Band, the Wimberley Valley Big Band shifted from a more rigidly “jazz” selection to friendlier “big band” sounds in response to community input. We are a true community band. If you love music, you will want to enjoy our dance/concerts.
