Wimberley is located on Ranch Road 12, 15 miles northwest of San Marcos, 45 miles southwest of Austin and 60 miles northeast of San Antonio. Approximately 160 miles from Houston and 200 miles from Dallas. Located in the Texas Hill Country at the confluence of the Blanco River and Cypress Creek.

Climate
Hot Summers. Mild Winters. Averaging 300 days of sunshine a year. Average Annual rainfall 37 inches. Frost dates: November 30 through March 2.

Population
“Wimberley” refers to the incorporated village and surrounding area. Wimberley’s population is about 3037. The Post Office estimates that the Wimberley Valley has a population of approximately 14,700.

Water is supplied by Wimberley Water Supply, Aqua Source (Woodcreek), private wells or rainwater collection. Electricity is furnished by Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC). Telephone service is supplied by Verizon and Spectrum. Sanitary Sewage is handled by septic tanks and sewer system (parts of Woodcreek).

The Wimberley Independent School District serves the surrounding rural area. Scudder Elementary consists of grades Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd. The Jacob’s Well Campus houses grades 3 through 5. The Danforth Junior High School includes grades 6 through 8. The High School contains Freshman through Senior levels and is a class 4-A level in sports.
